Employer Story: Quantum Care

Quantum Care and Hart Learning & Development have been working together for a number of years to deliver care-based training solutions. The tailored diplomas and apprenticeship programmes allow staff to upskill and grow in confidence in their care abilities, supporting internal career progression and development. Quantum Care has seen staff earn qualifications that have led to salary increases and take on further qualifications up to Level 4.

What Quantum Care say about their experience of working with Hart Learning & Development:

“We are proud of the care delivered to our residents. This starts with our own induction programme embedding our values. We then offer a dementia qualification via our own assessment centre. On successful completion of the dementia awareness, we offer the diploma, which is where Hart Learning + Development comes in.

“This was a new qualification for us, so initially Hart L+D explained the units and criteria so we could ensure it was the right qualification for our needs. We then worked closely with Hart L+D as we wanted to personalise it to Quantum Care values. We have been able to have Head Office teams invited to cohort days to talk about the Quantum Care processes relevant to that apprenticeship unit. The set apprenticeship is therefore seen as being very relevant to our learners because of this personal involvement.

“Our learners are in the position to progress their career and many have moved from Level 2 to Level 3, and we’re now even offering Level 4. This is a result of the positive impact and learning journey that our learners have had.

“Hart L+D are always open to our suggestions about how we work. They question things when needed, but this is always done professionally and calmly. Hart L+D are very supportive towards our staff. During the Covid pandemic, they showed empathy for the challenges in our sector; they appreciated that staff were anxious and exhausted. They continued to drive the diploma/apprenticeship programme forwards but showed an understanding of the difficulties that staff were encountering.

“We like the relationship we have with Sherry and the team of assessors. We get to know each other personally so we have a trusting two-way relationship. This means that either side can raise questions/challenges and come to a joint agreement. I sometimes forget that Sherry and the assessors don’t actually work for Quantum as they are an integral part of our learning and development. I see them as colleagues.”

About About Quantum Care’s work with Hart Learning & Development:

When Quantum Care and Hart Learning & Development started working together, discussions began over diploma and apprenticeship programmes. Talks focused on delivery methods and the location of care homes that Quantum Care manages. Teams from Quantum Care had input with the design and evaluation process of the programmes to ensure they met the company’s wishes and requirements and reinforced company values.

Hart L+D is particularly involved in a Level 4 cohort apprenticeship for Quantum Care staff, allowing employees to access career-enhancing training and unlock their full potential.
