About Howe Engineering’s work with Hart Learning & Development:
Howe Engineering is an independent family-run vehicle service, repair, and MOT garage based in Buntingford, Hertfordshire. Hart Learning & Development have been working with Howe Engineering since 2017 to provide industry standard vocational qualifications in the motor trade as a pathway to a career as a fully-qualified MOT technician.
The focus in the collaboration is to ensure apprentices learn expected behaviours within the environment to facilitate a safe and robust service to their customers. Line managers work closely with Hart Learning & Development’s onsite assessment team to provide an environment that is conducive to a good learning experience whilst also supporting the company to prepare their workforce to deliver services in line with company values and expectations.
Apprentices are able to work in a safe environment to build their skills, with individualised support tailored to each apprentice to help them manage their learning at a pace suited to them. Hart Learning & Development and Howe Engineering have also recognised the need for mental health support. As a result, support strategies are implemented within the programmes to enable apprentices to effectively manage mental health issues in the workplace to promote a healthy work/life balance.
