Bringing Local Employers Together

Hart Learning + Development hosted a networking event with local clinical and social healthcare employers at North Hertfordshire College’s Stevenage campus for the opportunity to share good practice.

This event was the first in a new series of networking opportunities that Hart Learning + Development is hosting to shed light on the benefits of training and the importance of a positive relationship with training providers when it comes to talent planning.

During the inaugural networking session, representatives from organisations such as local NHS trusts, Quantum Care, NOAH Enterprise, and Hertfordshire County Council came together to find out more about each other’s work. Hart Learning & Development’s Clinical and Social Healthcare team were also on hand to share information about professional development opportunities which are beneficial for upskilling staff and recruiting new talent.

Discussions were held about the current and future challenges facing the care sector and how these can be mitigated through strategic planning and upskilling. A keynote speech regarding Ofsted from an employers’ perspective also shed light on how the Ofsted inspection process impacts organisations employing apprentices. The speech reassured attendees of the support available and minimal disruption involved.

Cally Brown, a Senior Human Resources Officer with Hertfordshire County Council, commented: “I really enjoyed the event and speakers, and felt I took some new knowledge from all of them. I look forward to the next one – especially after the leadership taster session.”

Reflecting on the event, Account Manager for Hart Learning & Development Sinead Daly said: “It was fantastic to welcome such a diverse range of local employers to NHC’s Stevenage Campus to discuss current workforce challenges in the health and social care landscape. The event gave us all a great opportunity to share best practice around learning solutions and network with likeminded employers. We really look forward to our next event in February.”
