Multiply Maths Training

Helping your staff reach new heights

Multiply is a new government-funded programme designed to help adults across the UK improve their numeracy skills. Through a combination of face-to-face and online training, your staff will work with our tutors to develop their core numeracy skills.

Your employees will finish the short course feeling confident in completing maths-based tasks and be better prepared for further development or formal qualifications.

Eleven hours of blended delivery to enhance your team’s knowledge

Face-to-face delivery

tHREE ONE-HOUR SESSIONS OVER THREE WEEKS

These sessions allow your employees to put the maths skills they’re learning into their own context and relate their learning to their own work. They’ll also receive individualised support from our tutors, particularly on the topics they’re struggling with most. Session delivery will also be tailored to suit staff needs.

Online learning through CenturyTech

uP TO EIGHT HOURS, online BETWEEN SESSIONS

CenturyTech allows staff to learn and practice their maths skills at their own pace and in their own time. The system gives learners feedback on their answers and helps them focus on their strengths and weaknesses. Information is then shared with tutors to help them tailor sessions to suit their needs.

Staff will develop core maths skills in the following topics:

  • Basic numeracy skills
  • Working with money
  • Shapes, areas, and perimeters
  • Fractions, decimals, and percentages, including tax and discounts
  • Budgeting
  • Working with data, including averages
  • Introduction to formula
  • Units of measure, including conversion rates.

Programme content can be added or tailored for employers signing large groups up for the programme.

What is Century?

  • It is an online platform that will assess your current working level of English and maths, then, if necessary, provide you with learning ‘nuggets’ to support your further development of English and maths throughout your apprenticeship.
  • The platform uses AI technology to help you instantly identify and fill gaps in learning, complete with learning content and formative assessment questions.
  • Working with Cognassist, Hart is on a mission to help every learner reach their full potential through cognitive assessment. You will sit a short adaptive initial assessment, designed to determine both your working level and sublevel (from Entry 1 to Level 2) in English and maths.

Why do I need to complete it?

  • All learners enrolling on an apprenticeship with Hart Learning and Development are required to complete these initial assessments to help support the correct programme, programme level, and Maths and English support if needed during your apprenticeship.

How it works?

  • Students sit a short adaptive initial assessment, designed to determine their working level and sublevel (from Entry 1 to Level 2). Learners will not be shown their level, enabling the college to make an informed decision about the best course for them.

Why do the results matter?

You cannot pass or fail this assessment, but the results will help us to understand:

    • Your current working levels in English and maths
    • Whether you are enrolling on the appropriate level of apprenticeship
    • What further support, if any, will you need in English and maths to ensure your success in your apprenticeship?
    • How we can best support you where that support is required.
