Early years educator

The Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years.

 

Upon achievement of this qualification, it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators.

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • You need to be working within an Early Years setting and have done so for at least 6 months and remain working in the Early Years setting for the duration of the course.
  • GCSE English and maths grade A*- C or 4 and above or Level 2 Functional Skills.
  • You will need access to a PC/Laptop.

qualification

Upon achievement of this qualification learners will gain their licence to practise and it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators. Learners can progress into various job roles in the statutory, voluntary or private sectors such as:

  • Assistant in Children’s Centres
  • Practitioner in nursery schools
  • Practitioner in reception classes in primary schools
  • Pre-school worker

 

With additional experience, an Early Years Educator can become the manager of an early years setting. Learners can also progress to the Level 4 Certificate for the Early Years Advanced Practitioner or other higher-level early years qualifications.

Full funding may also be available if you are earning below the low-wage salary threshold, advance learner loans are also available. Please speak to us for further details.

Our online Information Sessions offer further course information and the opportunity to discuss your career progression.

 

The evening event includes a presentation by the Programme Manager providing insight into the learning programme; you’ll have the opportunity to speak to the course tutors at the end of the session.
